Club Projects

Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved in or have worked on in the past:

CURRENT PROJECTS:

  1. Weekly Reading Program at Fuerstenau Early Childhood Development Center.
  2. Yearly Dictionary Project for the Scott School Students
  3. Built the Starting/Finishing area for the Cross Country track at the High School
  4. Help Serve Luncheon twice monthly at the Lansing Rescue Mission
  5. Provide on a yearly basis Two $1,000 Dollar Scholarships to High School Seniors
  6. Participate and Sponsor the Rebuilding Together in April Project
  7. Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army
  8. Assist with the Classic Car Auto Show in Downtown Dewitt
  9. Parade of Homes
  10. Howard Soltow Annual Golf Outing
  11. Kiwanis Spirit Rock at DJHS
  12. Regular Donation of Blood and Platelet at the Lansing Red Cross Facility
  13. Raise and Donate Funds for the Eliminate Project
  14. Provide Financial Support and Goods to the Safe House in St. Johns.
  15. Sponsor the Builders Club at the DJHS and the Key Club at DHS
  16. Sponsor High School Students to the Kiwanis Leadership Conference

 

PAST PROJECTS:

  1. Provided  Breakfast during the Yearly Dewitt Cancer Walks
  2. Holiday Food Basket distribution
  3. Bicycle Repair Program
  4. Provided $1,200 to at least one High school student to attend the Inaugural Celebration in Washington DC
  5. Purchased a timing system for the swim team
  6. Financed and helped construct a batting cage for the baseball team
  7. Participated in the Earth Day Celebration in Clinton County
  8. Participated in Christmas in April projects (home repairs)
  9. Leaf clean-up for the elderly
  10. Sponsored one or two High school juniors each year for six or seven years to the Hugh O’Brian leadership conference until Kiwanis stopped their involvement
  11. Sponsored various Eagle Scout projects
  12. Sponsored some families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays
  13. Conducted a bowl-a-thon each year to raise funds for different high school groups, Wrestling, Baseball and Swim teams
